Representatives of the Central command of the US army (CENTKOM) get falsified intelligence on radical groups Islamic state and al-Qaeda. So they wanted to exaggerate the successes of the United States in the fight against terrorists.
In total, about 50 intelligence officers CENTKOM filed a complaint against distortions in prepared their own reports, according to The Daily Beast. Analysts say that the fake data could only representatives of the military leadership.
“Representatives of the Central command of the U.S. armed forces has put pressure on the specialists in intelligence analysis to those downplayed threats posed by ISIS and al-Qaeda (the terrorist group banned in Russia)” — the interlocutor told The Daily Beast.
The complaint forced the Commission of the U.S. Congress to initiate an investigation, the results of which will be published a 10-page report. The sources noted that the report does not provide compelling evidence that officials of the Obama administration was instructed to falsify reports.
