Putin submitted to the Duma the agreement with Syria about deployment of the aviation section


The President of Russia Vladimir Putin submitted to the state Duma for ratification the draft agreement with the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) on the placing in this country of the Russian aviation group. The document stresses that this Moscow asked Damascus.

“The Russian side at the request of the Syrian side locates on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian aviation group,” – said in the text of the document in the Duma electronic database.

Also stresses that the placement of the air group Damascus would provide an airfield Hamim in the province of Latakia, with its infrastructure on a grant basis. The corresponding agreement was signed in Damascus on 26 August 2015.

Note that Air and space forces, Russia began to strike blows to terrorists in Syria since September 30 of last year.

During the operation, the Russian military lost 19 people. August 1 in the Syrian province of Idlib was shot down a Mi-8 helicopter, on Board of which were five Russians (three crew members and two officers of the Center for conciliation of the parties). They all died.

The terrorists have offered to return the Russian side of the dead bodies, but in return demanded the release of their associates from the Syrian and Lebanese prisons.
