Putin on support for Erdogan after the putsch: Russia against unconstitutional actions


President Vladimir Putin meeting with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that after the attempted coup d’etat called his Turkish counterpart was one of the first.

“I want to say again that this is our position of principle: we always strongly oppose any attempt of unconstitutional actions”, – quotes the words of the Russian President press-service of the Kremlin.

He also expressed hope that Turkish people will overcome the political crisis in the country under the leadership of Erdogan.

It is worth noting that since November the first meeting between the two leaders started with a handshake. Both sides expressed hope for the restoration of relations between the two countries.
