The national Bank of Ukraine issued a silver coin with a face value of five hryvnia, subtly hinting at the “annexation” of the Crimean Peninsula by Russia. Commemorative banknotes puzzled Internet users, becoming an occasion for sarcastic jokes.
The inhabitant of Kremenchug Eugene Perevedentsev published a photo of the rare coins on his page in Facebook. On the obverse of patikrinta depicts the silhouette of the Crimean Peninsula, which seemed to be moving on the wheels of a train.
Fancy picture should symbolize the deportation of Crimean Tatars from the Peninsula during the Stalin regime. As the newspaper notes Depo.ua this coin is a limited edition, making it a subject of interest of collectors.
