Deputy Minister of information policy of Ukraine resigned because of regular death threats


Deputy Minister informpolitiki of Ukraine Tetiana Popova wrote a letter of resignation because of the constant death threats that she receives on the phone and on the Internet.

On his page in Facebook the clerk stated that he opposes attacks on journalists and freedom of speech. According to her, the unknown was intimidated not only her, but other media representatives, which investigated the activities of the site “Peacemaker”.

Popov is confident that faced with a well organized group that promotes the interests of individual politicians and political groups.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister has repeatedly criticized the site “Peacemaker”, the pages of which published the personal data of citizens, opposition to the new Ukrainian authorities.

A few months ago online have posted lists of journalists accredited to cover the events on the territory of the breakaway republics of Donbass.

Open access to the personal data of nearly a thousand media representatives, not only Russia, but also abroad, including NN, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Washington Post and many others.

The actions of the administration of the site provoked a storm of criticism from journalists ‘ organizations and human rights defenders.
