Rosstat recorded a decline in real pensions in Russia by 3.6% in June


Rosstat on Monday provided an update on pensions of Russians. According to the statistical office, in June 2016 the average size of monthly pensions increased in nominal terms by 2.7% in comparison with June of 2015). Its size was 12 413 thousand rubles.

In real terms — i.e. adjusted for inflation — there is a different story: the size of pensions decreased in June by 3.6%. In April and may recorded a decline of 4.3% in March to 4.2% in February and by 4.7% after a slight gain in January.
