Import duty for expensive watches can be paid at the airport

Fall in most international airports will install special terminals for instant payment of import duties on goods whose value and weight exceeds the established norms. Federal bailiff service (FSSP) has developed a similar mechanism: in the air harbors of the debtors will be able to quickly extinguish back taxes, fines and child support.

Now according to the rules of the Customs Union, each passenger is allowed free of duty “over the air” to bring from abroad for personal use goods worth not more than 10 thousand euros, and weight — not more than 50 kg. For all of the above must be paid in customs duties. It must be done within 15 days. This person must complete the Declaration and to follow the so-called “red corridor”.

In the case of goods not for resale, VAT and excise duty for items worth less than 10 thousand euros to pay. The amount of the fee varies widely depending on the category of import. Brandy, whiskey, the rate is 10 euros per 1 liter, on watch 30% of the cost of the goods. In case of exceeding the permissible weight Luggage 4 euros will be charged per “extra” pounds.

In practice, it looks like. If a passenger is bringing a coat or a watch worth 11 thousand euros, it must pay 300 euros for customs duties (30% of 1000 euros, which exceeds the duty-free threshold). If a passenger is bringing 4 liters of alcohol, the customs charge will be 20 euros. 2 liters of allowable duty-free volume, 2 litres for 10 euros — exceeding.

Passengers at security checkpoints behave differently. Some, knowing the “brute force”, still do not declare the goods in order to “save”. Others are willing to pay for his coat, but did not do so because of complicated bureaucratic procedures of registration and payment.

A person must obtain the FCS calculation of customs payments. Then go to the cashier of the Bank where to transfer to complete a receipt with details. Passengers with such a prospect, of course, are never happy.

“In the customs area on arrival at the airport “Domodedovo” in the test mode is a special terminal is installed, — says acting chief of the Domodedovo customs Alexander Berzan. — On the touch screen, the passenger can choose a product category to fill in a Declaration, and then see the amount of the payment.

This autumn, this service will appear in the customs inspection 20-25 airports in the country, including in cities where will pass the world championship on football in 2018. Then you can pay a fee by credit card or cash.

If the experience proves successful, then the terminal will begin to operate in the point car passes on the Railways and at seaports.

Interestingly, this new customs coincided with another similar initiative. Federal bailiff service (FSSP) has developed a mechanism of payment of debts on taxes, various fines, alimony directly in the air harbors. Today anyone who has an unpaid debt of over 10 thousand rubles, the risk of becoming temporarily restricted. In the first half of 2016 more than a million Russians were in this “black list” because of various debts.

However, even if the debtor quickly will pay for everything at the airport, he’s probably still gonna be late for your flight. Blame the imperfection of the departmental systems. First payment data to be included in Public information system, then the bailiffs issue a legal decision on the lifting of restrictions on travel. Only after that the border guard may notify the border crossing points on the lifting of the travel ban.

Therefore, FSSP has developed a bill according to which the duty of the border, the bailiff will have the right to promptly cancel the bans.
