FSB: computers of a number of government agencies and defense industry of Russia is infected with spyware


The Federal security service (FSB) of Russia has found evidence of infection of malicious spyware program computers and information resources of a number of state authorities, enterprises of the military-industrial complex, military and scientific institutions. From cyber espionage suffered a computer network of 20 organisations said in a statement.

Spyware is spread by using email messages with malicious attachment. After that the system loaded the module, which is able to intercept network traffic. The virus is also able to take screenshots of your screen, record audio and video files, to record the information about pressing keys on the keyboard and to turn on the webcam.

The FSB noted that “handwriting” virus creators recognizable – these programs are not often used in cyberspying operations around the world. When new sets of malware are manufactured with the features of another victim.

The experts have already carried out the necessary activities with affected organizations and agencies. “…Carried out a complex of measures to identify all victims of this malware on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as containment of threats and minimizing the consequences caused by its spread,” – said the FSB.
