State Duma Deputy Irina Yarovaya has asked the Federal Antimonopoly service to check the recent statement by the financial Director of a network “Magnet” Khachatur Pombukhchan. The top Manager of the retailer warned of a possible “turbulence with the prices for products in connection with the adoption of new amendments to the law on trade.
Irina Yarovaya suspected the Treasurer of “Magnet” in calling for unjustified price increases. She asks the FAS to give a legal assessment of the words of Pombukhchan “for the presence of signs of restriction of competition (…) and of violation of the Antimonopoly legislation,” – said in a letter sent to the office.
Spring insists that any failure of trade networks from the execution of amendments to the law “About trade” will be an occasion to investigate the FAS. The Deputy noted that he sees his task is to respond to “innuendo” and to protect the interests of domestic producers and buyers.
We will remind that on 25 July, the financial Director of “Magnit”: Khachatur Pombukhchan warned that the adoption of amendments to the law on trade, one of the initiators of which is Irina Yarovaya, can lead to the fact that in early 2017 food prices will rise.
“We assume that during the first months of next year due to the fact that all the retailers would come up with different speed go to the requirements of the law might be a little turbulence with the prices on the shelf,” said Pombuhchan.
Under the amendments, retailers will not be able to obtain from suppliers a bonus for the promotion of goods in the amount of more than five percent of the contract amount. Previously, a limit of 10 percent. Another important point is the reduction of the period within which the retailer must pay the manufacturer for the delivered goods.
According to the authors of the bill, such measures should improve the situation of producers and suppliers. However, some retailers have greeted the new law with a cool, warning of possible food shortages.
