The Turkish authorities after the coup attempt shut down more than 100 media


More than 100 media closed in Turkey after an unsuccessful coup attempt in Turkey, according to “Medusa” referring to Cumhuriyet. Including three news agencies, 16 TV channels, 23 radio stations and 29 publishing houses as well as 45 Newspapers and 15 magazines.

The Turkish government have the right to prohibit distribution of the media after imposing the state of emergency.

Earlier it was reported about the arrests of dozens of journalists suspected of links with opposition cleric Gulen.
