Turkish Deputy Prime Minister: the decision to attack the su-24 took the pilots


The Turkish authorities before the incident with the Russian su-24 changed the rules of their response force, said Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek. In connection with the attacks of the Syrian air force Turkish aircraft to Ankara gave its pilots the right to make the decision on whether to knock or not to knock down the aircraft. A case in point occurred on November 24, 2015, when the pilots made the decision to shoot down a Russian su-24, said Simsek.

Because of the incident with su-24 relations between Russia and Turkey has markedly deteriorated. After the talks presidents of the two countries in June 2016, the parties agreed to normalize relations. Later, in Turkey there was a coup attempt. Among the participants of the rebellion were arrested and two pilots, shot down a Russian su-24.
