The defense Ministry denied allegations of violation of FSI Russian airspace NATO


The official representative of the defense Ministry major General Igor Konashenkov commented on the statement of the Minister of defence of Bulgaria Nikolay Nencheva that Russian military aircraft off the transponders four times in the last month included in the so-called “Bulgarian zone of responsibility” in the airspace of NATO.

Konashenkov noted that the Ministry of defence found out about it with undisguised surprise. He asked Mr. Nencheva clarification, how far from the air borders of Bulgaria “extend the boundaries of the imaginary areas of responsibility of NATO airspace”.

Konashenkov said the Russian planes regularly fly over the Black sea, but always in strict accordance with international rules. He also assured that all flights in June were carried out with enabled transponders.

In this case, said Konashenkov, to date, no requests in the address of Russia from the Ministry of defence of Bulgaria was not.

Konashenkov suggested to the Bulgarian Minister, before it can claim to take “preventive measures” to verify the reports of his subordinates about the real state of Affairs.
