Roman Vilfand said that the phenomenon observed in Moscow and leading to deterioration of visibility, it is incorrect to call it smog, and we are talking about the haze. Also, the Director of the hydrometeorological center of Russia explained that one of the reasons for its occurrence is the migration into the upper layers of air of water vapor, which accumulate at an altitude of 600 to 800 meters and, according to the meteorologist, creates an optical effect of dispersion. The second reason, according to Vilfand, is that of the North, Siberia and the Northern Urals at the center of European Russia moves the products of combustion at an altitude of about 2.5 kilometers occurs the dispersed dust.

Director of the hydrometeorological center reported that haze will last over the capital until 28 July during this time ecological conditions in Moscow will deteriorate because of the heat and lack of wind to haze will be “podkashivatsya” Moscow pollutants caused by the operation of enterprises and cars. By Thursday, it is expected that the wind will appear and will take away the harmful veil, but the heat, according to forecasts, in Moscow was established before the end of the week.

About a possible connection between appeared in the Sunday haze in Moscow and forest fires in Siberia quite quickly said representatives of Greenpeace of Russia, but initially Gidromettsentra similar version was met with some doubt, vowing, however, to carry out additional calculations and analyze satellite images to check. Reportedly, the results showed that the proposed Greenpeace explanation, in all probability, untrue.
