Zakharova: Moscow hopes for severe punishment of the Turkish pilots who shot down the su-24

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday that for Russia the question of punishing the perpetrators of the death of the Russian pilot in Turkey has not gone anywhere and is a priority.

According to TASS, she expressed the hope that after constructive progress in bilateral relations, Ankara will fulfill what was said by the Russian side. “People who participated in those events which caused or directly related to the deaths of Russian soldiers, should suffer the most severe punishment,” – said Zakharov.

Earlier, the Turkish authorities reported that the pilots who shot down Russian su-24, arrested on charges of attempting a military coup.
