The complex of ICARUS (International Cooperation for Animal Research Using Space — International cooperation in the field of scientific animal research using space technologies”) includes electronic unit, and interfaces, as well as receiving and transmitting antennas that will be installed on the outer surface of Russian service module “Zvezda”.
The experiment was unique in that it will allow to work on Board the space station technology tracking of small animals by weight, no heavier than 200 grams (until recently, with the ISS would be only for large animals). One of them will definitely fall birds. Previously on birds, which will be installed surveillance, consolidate module ICARUS not exceeding five grams. This module combines a GLONASS/GPS receiver, a radio transmitter and receiver, battery, solar battery, temperature sensors, and acceleration.
