The US invited Erdogan assistance in the investigation of the coup attempt


US President Barack Obama on the phone discussed the situation in Turkey with Tayyip Recep Erdogan. As reported the press Secretary of the White house, Obama suggested to his Turkish counterpart “comprehensive assistance” in the investigation of the coup attempt, stressing that it must be conducted in accordance with “democratic procedures”.

The White house also reported that the learning provided by Turkey documents about the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulane, extradition sought by Ankara.
