Excessive alcohol consumption can also lead to such consequences
Reportedly, the 51 age of study participants ranged from 50 to 70 years, and the remaining 70 — 25-30 years. Each of them scientists have shown a picture containing lots of fine detail. Then the volunteers were asked to either drink a little alcoholic beverage, or a kind of placebo — a drink that tastes perceived as an alcoholic, but in practice it is not. About contains alcohol specifically in his drink, none of the study participants did not know.
Finally, volunteers were offered much detail to describe the picture they saw shortly before. As it turned out, those who before that got alcoholic drinks, often wrong in this description and remembered fewer details. Especially strongly this tendency was observed in participants older than 50 years.
While monitoring the brain activity of people who participated in the study, the experts once again convinced that the work of their short-term memory resulting from the consumption of alcohol worsens. While experts admit that the abuse of alcohol can lead to memory impairment not only directly after the feast, but in the longer term.
We will remind, in the beginning of the current year, the group of experts representing the canadian McMaster University, found that the use of alcoholic beverages, including beer, in the first place is having a devastating effect on the adolescent brain. Their study was more extensive and showed that the earlier people begin drinking, on average, worse than those he has functioning frontal lobes and hippocampus parts of the brain responsible for memory and the ability to navigate in space.Related posts:
