Putin will meet with Erdogan amid mass repression in Turkey

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov reported about the planned meeting between Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Meanwhile in Turkey continue to be introduced repressive measures which have already affected not only the security forces, but also the intelligentsia.

According to Peskov, the meeting will be held in the first week of August on the territory of the Russian Federation, however, the specific time and place remain unknown. Thus a press-the Secretary has denied the information that such a meeting could take place on August 9 in Baku: there, he explained, would be only three leaders of the States of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran.
