The Supreme economic court of Ukraine upheld an antitrust fine to Gazprom


The Supreme economic court of Ukraine upheld the rulings of the lower courts and dismissed the appeal of “Gazprom”, who complained of denial of claim to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, impose on the company a fine of $ 86 billion hryvnia (over $ 3 billion).

The fine was imposed back in 2015 for abuse of a monopoly position in gas transit. “Gazprom” with a fine disagreed, explaining that not doing business on the territory of Ukraine by passing the gas company “Naftogaz Ukraine” on the Western border of Russia.
