Nutritionists have called a simple way to deal with obesity

A study conducted by researchers from the University of Michigan, found that the secret of the perfect diet for weight loss has nothing to do with proteins, fats and carbohydrates. In order to increase the chances to get rid of excess weight, a person with obesity should be simply as often as possible and regularly drink water.

Although to some extent that excessive drinking contributes to weight loss, it was known before, experts say that still, from a scientific point of view, this correlation is still sufficiently has not been addressed. In order to partially fill this gap, researchers gathered information about 9 528 participants of large national studies on nutrition. The age of these people ranged from 18 to 64 years, reports EurekAlert.

As it turned out, people who have a body mass index higher than normal, usually do not give due attention to the hydration of the body — the timely replenishment of spent water. Discovered was an inverse relationship — those who drank water with little or not often enough are more likely to suffer from excess weight, so it is safe to say that in this case is the cause and what the consequence, it is impossible. However, at this stage of its work, the experts are inclined to the interpretation, according to which drinking enough water can be a kind of secret to losing weight. In order to test this assumption, however, will require additional research.

Anyway, experts urge people to ensure that their body regularly received sufficient water. To do this, scientists recommend not only, in fact, drink as much as possible, but also actively to eat water-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables.

The results of their research experts presented on the pages of scientific publication Annals of Family Medicine.
