The security Council is ready to strengthen the UN mission in South Sudan


The UN Security Council is ready to send additional group of peacekeepers to protect the people of South Sudan. For this step the world body prompted clashes resumed in the region on 7 July.

Members of the security Council “expressed willingness to consider the possibility of strengthening the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) to ensure that the mission and the international community can prevent violence in southern Sudan and to respond to it,” said the presiding officer in SAT, a Japanese diplomat, Koro Bessho.
