The CEC received the complaint for the referendum on the election of the Governor of Sevastopol

The CEC of the Russian Federation received a complaint for the referendum on the election of Governor of Sevastopol. City election Commission refused to register the petition of the public movement “Serve Sevastopol” on the referendum.

According to the representative of the movement, a petition was sent to the electoral Commission on 21 June. It is noted that the electoral Commission motivated its refusal by the fact that the existing legal base in Sevastopol does not allow to hold a referendum.

The activists appealed to the CEC to appeal against the decision of the local electoral Commission. In addition, it is noted that the public movement “Serve Sevastopol” will collect signatures in support of direct election of the mayor.
