Less than 1% of the electorate voted in the referendum in Abkhazia by noon


The turnout at the polling stations in Abkhazia, where on Sunday there is a referendum about necessity of early election of the President, by 12:00 MSK amounted to 0,54%. Thus, by noon voted only 725 out of 133 thousand inhabitants of the Republic, included in the lists of voters, said the local CEC.

In order for the results of the voting were valid, the required turnout above 50%.

On the eve of the Abkhaz opposition calls to boycott the referendum, which has been previously. After the scandal with interior Minister of the Republic in Sukhum, there were mass protests demanding his resignation and the postponement of the referendum in the autumn.
