In Finland gaining votes petition for review the status in the EU


In Finland, more than half required for the consideration of the Parliament signatures collected petition for the holding of the Advisory referendum on leaving the EU. Of the required 50 thousand votes from the civil initiative has already 27,1 thousand. Since the advent of the petition less than a month – despite the fact that the collection of votes is given six months.

The author of the initiative – the head of the youth organization of the party “True Finns” Sebastian Tynkkynen. He proposed to hold a referendum in December 2017. In his opinion, Brussels transferred more authority to make decisions regarding Finland than necessary.

However, immediately after the referendum in the UK, the Prime Minister of Finland, Juha Sipilä named the issue of withdrawal from the EU is irrelevant for their country.
