On the eve of Cyprus Parliament adopted a resolution on the lifting of EU sanctions against Moscow. The initiators of the vote, called on Brussels to improve relations with Russia and restore her political and trade relations.

The document stresses that anti-Russian sanctions have been ineffective and do not contribute to the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. However, the results of the vote are for guidance only.

Note that 1 July, the European Union extended sanctions against Russia by six months, accusing Moscow in the lack of fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
