Poroshenko: nobody believes in the EU more than Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in an article for the publication Politico said that no one believes in the European Union over his country. Such a statement he made in connection with the results of a referendum on Britain’s withdrawal from the Association.

“Wherever retreats of the European idea, there is a vacuum, which is filled with something very familiar — national egoism. Filled with greed and philistinism disguised as pragmatism. Those who require exit from the EU — not the dreamers, but those who hunger more power and less accountability, – wrote Poroshenko. – In the conditions of crisis of faith, those who still believe, are not a problem but part of the solution. Nowhere in Europe will you see such faith in the EU, as in Ukraine. But not because we don’t know about the shortcomings of a United Europe, but because we are aware of alternatives”.
