Thousands of people of Kiev are protesting because of rising prices for gas and utilities


In Kiev, thousands of people went on a protest March “European prices – European wages” against the increase of prices for utilities and gas. It is reported that they are lined up in two columns and headed to the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the government House.

Protesters unhappy with the sharp increase in tariffs, which will be forced to give a salary to pay for housing and heating. They require from 1 October to bring the minimum wage to an economically viable level of subsistence, as well as to raise pensions and scholarships. Recall, the new tariffs in force from 1 July, almost to the widow above the former.

Earlier, the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko has warned of possible disruptions in heat supply from the beginning of the heating season due to the blocking of “Naftogaz” accounts 104 of Ukrainian energy companies.
