Poroshenko has deprived the Ukrainian military Soviet stars on the shoulder straps

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a law under which servicemen with shoulder straps removes the Soviet star. To replace them, the insignia of the Ukrainian insurgent army (the UPA, the organization banned in Russia).

As reported on his page in Facebook adviser Poroshenko Yuri Biryukov, “painstaking work was done more than a year”, while not without attempts to counter.

“The whole bunch put “attention” of the enemies, intrigues, scandals, gossip, complaints,” he said.

The official presentation of the new insignia APU to be held during the parade on the independence day of Ukraine on August 24.

In turn, the Ukrainian edition Gazeta.ua notes that in the development of new straps for the basis was taken form UPA fighters and Riflemen.

Note that during the so-called de-communization of Ukraine was renamed about 700 settlements and 15 districts, was destroyed more than a thousand of monuments of the Soviet era.

The country has a ban on the display of Soviet symbols and public performance of anthems to the USSR, the Ukrainian SSR and other Soviet republics.
