A friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, cellist Sergei Roldugin became a knight of the order of Alexander Nevsky. The document, signed by Putin, about this posted on the official portal of legal acts.

Along with Roldugina order was awarded also and conductor Valery Gergiev: both of them this award awarded for “outstanding achievements in the preparation and carrying out important humanitarian foreign policy actions that promote peace and friendship between peoples.”
Recall that the order of Alexander Nevsky, which existed in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, was returned in the award system of the Russian Federation by decree of President Medvedev in 2010.
Since then it managed to get 136 people, including workers of culture (in particular, the head of Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky and representatives of power structures: the head of the national guard Viktor Zolotov, head of SK Alexander Bastrykin and others.
Action, for which, apparently, Roldugin received the award, began his speech in the liberated from terrorists by the Syrian Palmyra.
Before the performance the name Roldugin became known to a wide public from the offshore scandal, a defendant who the cellist was. President Putin, however, acquitted him, saying that all the money found by investigative journalists, he allegedly spent on the purchase of musical instruments, and then even left with debts.

Answering “not specified” the issue of Panamanian scandal, Putin once again called it information spreading which are not only Western lawyers. And had already once narrated a story about a musician Roldugin, who spent all offshore money for the purchase of stringed instruments, is now continued.
