The Russian delegation in the parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe was forced to leave a meeting to discuss the proposed Ukraine the draft resolution of the PA OSCE on the situation in the Crimea. Representatives of Russia revolted absolutely biased content of the document, and that the Assembly had ignored Russia’s attempts to amend the document.
So, in the draft resolution About the violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the Crimea, violation of the rights of the Crimean Tatar population”, presented at the meeting of the OSCE PA in Tbilissi, mention of torture, however, does not cite a single specific case. It is also reported about the constantly deteriorating situation with human rights, but again without any specifics.
According to the head of the Russian delegation in the Assembly, Nikolai Kovalyov, the Russian side made a statement regarding this resolution, which called the document completely biased, tendentious, and bearing a pronounced anti-Russian character.
According to Kovalev, to discuss some amendments to the document does not make sense – the resolution you just need to copy.
“Basically, the resolution is talking about “torture”, but no facts are given. The document is replete with propaganda slogans such as “Crimea systematically violated human rights, “the situation worsens”, “we must immediately take measures to punish Russia”. With such statement of a question do not agree… Our position was supported by the French delegation, Recalling that recently in Crimea were representatives of the Council of Europe… France recommended that before taking this resolution, to go to the Crimea, and only after that to do some” – quoted Kovalev of RIA Novosti.
It is also called a lie the statement of the Ukrainian side about the fact that Crimea is not allowed observers: “Nothing like, please come and see…But given the anti-Russian sentiment of the Committee as a whole, the resolution was adopted for consideration at a plenary session, in spite of our protests and proposals”, – said the head of the Russian delegation.Related posts:
