The state Department accused the Russian government in the absence of anti-trafficking

The US state Department released its annual report on the problem of human trafficking, which again criticized Russian authorities for failing to adopt adequate measures for the suppression of the slave trade.

The authors of the report believe that the actions of the government of Russia does not fully meet the” even “minimum standards” to combat human trafficking, and Moscow has made no significant effort to change the situation, reports TASS.

The report says that Russia was not prepared the “national strategy” on this issue, and does not allocate responsibilities among government agencies.

Thus Russia in 2013 included the third category of States, which in the opinion of the state Department made no effort to remedy the situation. Against such countries provided for automatic economic sanctions, if any decision not to take the President of the United States. However, Barack Obama has sought to use sanctions on this issue. They were applied only to Zimbabwe, North Korea and Sudan.

In addition to Russia from former Soviet republics in the third category also includes Belarus, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The Russian foreign Ministry earlier categorically rejected such assessments.
