Russians can remain without imported alcohol

Deliveries to Russia of imported alcoholic beverages may be terminated due to lack of excise stamps. The marks of the old sample already on the wane, while the new release has not yet been established – the competition for the selection of a contractor is not yet spent.

Foreign companies were threatened with serious losses, already addressed to first Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov, the newspaper “Kommersant”.

As the newspaper notes, the issuance of excise stamps of the old sample comes to an end, and for a number of positions and it stopped for lack of stamps.In the Union of importers of alcoholic beverages (SIAP) reported that already there has been a reduction of importation of foreign alcohol produced by individual companies.

Chapter SIAP Valery Filatov described the situation as critical.According to him, in may of this year the FSUE “Goznak” was transformed into a joint-stock company has changed the labeling requirements of alcohol.

The Federal customs service (FCS) was to conduct a tender to determine the contractor for the production of tax stamps of a new sample, but this was not done, the new brand needs to issue is 1 July.

“The tender, design, ordering, production and delivery of excise stamps can take several months,” – said Filatov.

According to participants of the market, a shortage of some types of imported alcoholic products will be noticeable by the end of July. If the issue is not resolved, the season of October-December it may be low-income, and in these three months, alcohol is enjoyed by the Russians in great demand.
