Putin and Erdogan “positive” talked for 45 minutes


Lasted for 45 minutes of conversation between the two presidents — Russia and Turkey — was their first contact since November of 2015, when the Turkish air force shot down a Russian fighter on the border with Syria.

Earlier, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that the conversation was held on the initiative of Vladimir Putin: it happened after the letter sent to him by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but to the terrorist attack at the airport of Istanbul.

The Kremlin did not disclose the content of the conversation between the two politicians, however sources Reuters in the environment of the Erdogan assured that the conversation went “very productive and positive.”

In addition, in the near future it is expected a written statement that the parties must publish the results of the conversation.

We will remind that Moscow and Ankara have diverged in quotations of the letter of Erdogan. So, Peskov said that it had apologized for the downed plane, while official Ankara said that it is about “regrets”. On the website of the Kremlin also changed the English translation of the letter the Turkish leader: “the formula refers to the recognition of intentional infliction of guilt was replaced by determination of the attack on the plane as inadvertent error.
