Neckline fold increases the chance to interest the employer

If the photo, which a woman applies to the summary, you can see the deep cleavage, the chances that it will call for an interview, nearly 20 times. The results of an experiment recently conducted by a team of scientists from the University Paris IV Sorbonne, suggests that neckline, as unpleasant as it sounds, can really help a woman to find a job.

To test whether the chances of girls to find a job depend on whether the neckline is seen at his pictures, the scientists were invited to participate in the study with the two girls resemble each other in appearance and possess very similar skills. The main difference between the two participants was that one of them was applied to the summary of a photograph in which she was in the dress with a deep slit, and the other — on the contrary, in clothes with a high neck.

Both girls sent out their summary in two hundred different companies, picks of experts in the field of sales or accounting. As a result the woman with a more “provocative” photo received an invitation for an interview from most of these organizations — “ceteris paribus” her chances pre-the interest of the employer than the girl that sent the photos was dressed modestly.

The researchers said that they discovered a trend in the case of vacancies of the accountant was shown even brighter than when working in the field of sales, which makes the findings even more surprising. If a girl sells, a certain kind of “objective” logic can be considered the fact that revealing outfits can play a positive role when dealing with customers. However, the work accountant of communicating with people does not imply that is the clothes can not affect the professional success of a person.

On the results, the scientists reported in the course held from 28 to 30 June 2016 at the Bristol conference. They expressed the opinion that to check the data received may require additional, more extensive research.
