Leaders of the Baltic fleet was removed because of false reports


Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the results of the audit were removed from commander of the Baltic fleet Vice Admiral Viktor Kravchuk and a number of officials. As explained in Department, the military leaders are not well organized combat training of troops and distort the real situation in their reports.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu instructed to promptly correct all deficiencies identified in the Baltic fleet, and re-check until the end of the year, according to a press release from the military.

Shoigu has suspended from duty the commander of the Baltic fleet of the Russian Federation Victor Kravchuk, chief of staff, Sergei Popov, and several officials with the words “for serious shortcomings in combat training, as well as the distortion in the reports of the real state of Affairs”, reports TASS.

The defense Ministry said that the leaders of the Baltic fleet also failed to take all necessary measures to improve conditions of accommodation of personnel and not properly cared for their subordinates.

In a press release stressed that Sergei Shoigu and members of the Board of the Ministry of defense gave “tough and principled evaluation of the activities of officers guilty of serious omissions. It is reported that all suspended commanders will be dismissed from the Armed forces.

Verification of military control bodies, military units and formations of the Baltic fleet was held from 11 may to 10 June 2016.
