At the Novodevichy cemetery was inaugurated a monument to Primakov


The opening ceremony of the monument to the Russian politician Yevgeny Primakov was held Wednesday at the Novodevichy cemetery. It was attended by the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, his Deputy Grigory Karasin and Mikhail Bogdanov, the former head of the audit chamber Sergei Stepashin.

The composition of the monument consists of a huge stone slab, on which is inscribed the verses of Yevgeny Primakov: “I firmly decided to be completely in harness until he’s wiped out until the fall. And if it becomes unbearably hard, and then the road will not go.”

Primakov began his career in the newspaper “Pravda”, which toured the countries of the Middle East. In 1991-1996 year he headed the foreign intelligence Service, in 1996-1998, he held the post of Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia. Primakov died 26 June 2015, at the age of 85 years.
