The official U.S. state Department spokesman Elizabeth Trudeau in an interview has confirmed to The Washington Post about the pressure that American diplomats in Moscow and Western countries are from the Russian special services.
In the article in the Washington Post cites various examples of such pressure: it is told that representatives of the special services pursue diplomats and their families on the streets without invitation penetrate at receptions and even bribe the press that covered the activities of the staff of embassies in a negative light.
Often, the security services allegedly transferred to other forms of pressure: in the homes of diplomats after penetration they can secretly from the owners to turn on the lights and rearrange the furniture, one of the Embassy staff recalled that once he had found himself on the carpet a pile of excrement, and yet, during the first term of Barack Obama, the American military attache in Moscow, was killed by a dog.

However, such tensions have risen after 2014, as diplomats regularly claim in their secret reports. In particular, the former US Ambassador to Prague Standards Eisen called it a form of “hybrid war” and said that the pressure on diplomats as one of her fronts.
In the end, Trudeau said that the United States will continue to “appropriately” respond to such incidents in accordance with national and international law, in her opinion, similar statements of the Russian side about the pressure on its representatives are not baseless.Related posts:
