Russia and the United States agreed to establish a lunar orbital station

The Russian rocket-space Corporation “Energy” of the American space Agency NASA and other partners on the International space station programme have agreed on a script of creation of the international lunar visited infrastructure. It is expected that in the first half of 2017, the program of construction and operation of this platform will be presented to the heads of space agencies.

The creation of a lunar space station, the ISS partners have recognized the first and very important step towards deep space exploration, reports “Izvestia” with reference to the head of the press center of RSC Energia Irina Romanova. It is reported that the planning of such projects working group IEWG (ISS Experts Working Group, the Expert working group of the ISS). Given the study IEWG heads in 2014 signed the “outline of the capabilities of the ISS to deep space exploration” and formed a working group IECST considering the possible scenarios of the future international program.

It is reported that, in contrast to the ISS planned in the longer term base on the moon the station is orbiting Earth satellite will only be visited temporarily, and not permanently inhabited, as the level of radiation in lunar orbit higher than the earth.

In a recent interview with “Moskovsky Komsomolets” NASA astronaut Tom Jones, David, in his career, who had made four space flights and four spacewalks, and is now engaged in the mission planning space exploration, said he believes the creation of the International space station one of the most important, and perhaps most important over the last decades development in the field of study and conquest of outer space. He also expressed hope that the project continues to be an example of international cooperation in space and this interaction will apply to further stages of space exploration, including the establishment of a lunar base, manned missions to Mars and to asteroids.

Earlier Olga Zharova, head of the press service of FSUE TsNIIMash, said that despite the difficult economic situation, Russia does not refuse plans on creation of the Russian lunar base, and told what that database will be done. predpolagaetsya that initially the number of members of her crew will be 2-4 people, and later it will be able to accommodate 10-12 people, while, as expected, the duration of each of the expeditions will be up to 30 days.
