Former Prime Minister of Moldova Filat sentenced to 17 years


A court in Chisinau admitted the ex-Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat is guilty of corruption and sentenced him to 17 years in prison.

Filat was arrested after the surrender of the mayor of Orhei, the Moldovan businessman Ilan Shor, the husband of the famous singer Jasmine.

Earlier, the businessman said that the real damage to the group of Moldovan banks is $ 650 million. Part of this amount in the amount of $ 250 million, — loans granted in a different form and transmitted to Vladimir Filat, according to their requirements.
