The initiator of the petition, which was signed by over 50 thousand people, became the head of the youth wing of the party “True Finns” Sebastian Tynkkynen. To hold a referendum in Finland he proposed in December 2017. According to Tynkkynen, Finland should leave the EU to become free.

Signatures under the document in two days have put about 10 thousand people. For consideration of the petition by the Parliament should be at least 50 thousand votes.

In the UK on 23 June held a referendum on leaving the EU, which was won by the Pro-Brexit.
