Venezuelan opposition: the authenticity of signatures for a referendum on the resignation of Maduro confirmed

In Venezuela, the opposition confirmed the authenticity of the signatures collected for the referendum on the resignation of President Nicolas Maduro.

It is noted that it was necessary to confirm the 1% of signatures of voters in all regions. Thus, the opposition will now have to collect 4 million signatures to prepare for the referendum.

The opposition is extremely important to hold a referendum this year. If it takes place after 10 January 2017, even in the case of a removal of Maduro from power, his position for the remaining two years will take the assigned Vice President.

Earlier, Maduro said that a referendum on the termination of powers of the President of Venezuela will take place no earlier than 2017.

Nicolas Maduro became President of Venezuela in April 2013.
