U.S. General acknowledged the failure of NATO to defend the Baltic States

The commander of U.S. forces in Europe, General Ben Hodges in an interview with German newspaper Die Zeit said that NATO forces do not have time to beat Russia if its troops invaded the Baltic countries. Thus, he confirmed the conclusion of the RAND analysts that Russia would be enough 60 hours for the conquest of this region.

Then, the media has attributed this statement to the Pentagon official Michael carpenter. He denied this information, noting that Russia, however, would really be an advantage in time and distance.

The past wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Hodges also told the journalists about the shortcomings in the coordination of NATO forces, identified during the exercise “Anakonda”. According to him, the Alliance has problems with the security of communication and transfer of heavy machinery in Eastern Europe.
