According to the newspaper The New York Times to eliminate Syria state Department employees want the scenario for the destruction of Yugoslavia.

In particular, the diplomats suggested strikes on positions of the Syrian army “remote weapons”, referring to cruise missiles and aircraft.

The publication reminds that this is what NATO led by the US three months ironed Yugoslav cities, forcing the country’s leadership, de facto, to surrender, what subsequently led to the expulsion of more parts of the Serbian population of Kosovo and the elimination of Yugoslavia as a state.

But reporters also noted that such a scenario is unlikely given the involvement in the conflict of Russia and Iran. As the authors of the article, Moscow and Tehran will make every effort to neutralize possible attacks by the United States.

Earlier, the representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia Igor Konashenkov expressed surprise due to the fact that the strategic issues in the state Department are voting “labour collective”.
