This opinion was expressed by Soros during his visit to London at the invitation of the “Open Russia” Khodorkovsky.

“Now Russia is turning into a world power, while the European Union is destroyed… exactly the same as in his time destroyed the Soviet Union, and the prosperity and wellbeing of Europe has increased”, – quotes the Soros Reuters.

According to legendary investor, the collapse of the EU does not upset Russia, and will even go in her favor. He had previously expressed the idea that in 2017 Russia will face a daunting task of payment of a significant part of foreign loans that in a negative scenario could mean for it, even bankruptcy. Therefore, the problems and even the collapse of the European Union, the Kremlin is surely at hand. These “secret plans,” said Soros, and guided by the Russian authorities, “glowing” the situation in Syria and provoking “attacks” new waves of refugees in the EU.

“The regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin could face bankruptcy in the year 2017, in connection with the payment of a substantial part of foreign loans due to Western sanctions and low oil prices… the budget deficit is 7% of GDP, but the Cabinet will have to reduce it further to 3%… Putin could help the disintegration of the European Union, which would free Russia from the imposed sanctions… In General, the Kremlin can gain significant economic benefits from the division of Europe”, – said Soros.

The billionaire also expressed the view that the future of the EU are closely entwined with the fate of Ukraine that the EU “put” on their shoulders.

“Now the fate of the EU depends on the fate of Ukraine”, – he said.
