Kiev is ready to receive a delegation of the UN Subcommittee on prevention of torture

On 16 June, the SBU through the foreign Ministry of Ukraine sent a package of powers in the United Nations in the framework of the resumption of work in Ukraine of the delegation of the UN Subcommittee on prevention of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (CTP). About it yesterday has informed a press-the center of security Service of Ukraine.

This initiative of the secret service comes not from the desire for maximum transparency in its work.

Not so long ago, assistant UN Secretary General for human rights Ivan Simonovic revealed to the civilized world the fragments of the fresh report of the United Nations in Ukraine. In it, in particular, mentioned the facts of torture of supporters of the unrecognized LNR and DND, as well as predictions about the availability in the Republic of certain “secret prisons”. International inspectors, who will verify the absence/presence of these horrible places, security officers at the prison in Kramatorsk and Mariupol are simply not allowed.

The story received wide attention and now the security Service of Ukraine is ready to receive members of the delegation of the ACC at any time and to provide full access to its facilities to fulfil the tasks of their powers.

“The security service of Ukraine was and remains a special law enforcement Agency, which in its activities is fully committed to the principles of the rule of law and the rule of law, respect for and protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen”, – assure in a press-the SBU center.

The resumption of the activities in Ukraine of the UN Committee on combating torture can happen in September.
