Biologists have explained why Canaries are smarter than gorillas


The phrase “bird brain” was sometimes used as a curse — and, indeed, the brain of birds is not too large compared to the brain of many mammals. However, scientists are finding more evidence that many species of birds are very smart and sometimes have abilities, which were long supposed to be inherent only to primates. American neuroscientists from Vanderbilt University have figured out how birds manage to combine a compact brain and high intelligence.
