Experts Portland has placed Russia on the 27th place, given the fading active phase of hostilities in the Donbass and Moscow’s efforts to combat terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, an organization banned in Russia). It is noteworthy that in last year’s ranking of Soft Power, Russia was in the top 50, writes “Kommersant”

The index calculations were carried out on the basis of two parameters, both objective and subjective indicators. The objective related governance, business climate, education and government involvement in addressing global issues.

Subjective indicators are determined by the data of public opinion polls in 25 States: the attitude to the national cuisine, assessing the attractiveness of domestically produced equipment and of luxury, comfort, friendliness of local residents, culture and foreign policy component of the state.

It is worth noting that the first place in the ranking took the United States, last year the leader was the United Kingdom. In second place is Germany closes the top three Japan.
