Russia has officially raised the price of vodka

The minimum retail price for vodka in Russia increased by 5 rubles to 190 rubles for a bottle of 0,5 liters. The change of the price according to the order of the Ministry of Finance of Russia has occurred since June 13.

Recall that the Net has established a minimum retail price for 0.5 liters of vodka in 185 rubles from February 1, 2015. Earlier it was 220 rubles per 0.5 liter. The excise duty for vodka has not changed since 2014, and is 500 rubles per liter of anhydrous alcohol.

As reported RIA Novosti, the prices for cognac and brandy remained at the same level: 293 rubles for a bottle of brandy with a volume of 0.5 liters and 322 rubles – over a bottle of brandy.

The minimum retail price for vodka – an instrument of struggle against counterfeit alcohol on the market. Beverage manufacturers propose to reduce the excise rates up to about 300 rubles per liter of alcohol to displace from the market illegal products. This level, according to their calculations, would be in the interests of business and state, and the public.
