Russia will start to pay pensions moved to Israel to residents of the Russian Federation

The authorities of Russia and Israel signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of social security. He, in particular, provides for pension payments to former citizens of RSFSR, who now reside in Israel.

The document was signed during the visit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Moscow.

The parties came to an agreement that countries will go to the principle of proportional payments for seniority, which was acquired in Russia and Israel, reports “Interfax”.

On the Russian payments will be able to claim the former residents of the RSFSR, who had moved to Israel before 1992 and never had citizenship of the Russian Federation. The Treaty entered into force in 2017.

The document also regulates the issue of the appointment and payment of temporary disability allowances, support in case of accidents at work and occupational disease. Provided payments for families with children, however, they will be made in accordance with the laws of the country in whose territory the child is.

As stated earlier, the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Zeev Elkin, after the Treaty’s entry into force, the number of Israelis who will receive Russian pensions will increase in two times — to 30 thousand people, reports RIA Novosti. It is expected that the benefits to the citizens of Israel in the next year will be spent 5.4 billion rubles.
