NATO forces intercepted a Russian submarine


In the North sea, NATO forces intercepted a Russian submarine capable of carrying cruise missiles.

At the moment the submarine is accompanied by a large anti-submarine ship of the Navy of great Britain HMS Kent, reports Sky News.

“The Navy remains vigilant in international and territorial waters, to ensure the security of the UK and protect us from potential threats,” – said the Minister of defence of great Britain Michael Fallon.

It clarifies that we are talking about the submarine project 877 “Halibut”, or “Varshavyanka”, referring to the Kilo class in NATO terminology.

The commander of the British BPK Daniel Thomas noted that the tracking of foreign ships and submarines – a regular activity for the Royal Navy, adding that a Russian submarine was discovered through joint efforts with NATO allies.
